Innovative hoses in use: stability and safety for the air dome at ZOOM Erlebniswelt
The ELE tropical paradise in the ZOOM Erlebniswelt is a fascinating place: Here you can marvel at flying foxes that fly elegantly over visitors with their large wings and sharp claws. Their home is protected from wind and weather by an air-filled roof - a construction that is kept in shape by pressure-resistant and air-conducting hoses.
But if a tube is damaged, the roof loses its tension. To prevent the roof from literally falling on the flying foxes' heads, the hoses from another manufacturer that had become porous due to UV rays were replaced with new, durable Masterflex-PUR L Trivolution hoses.
Just the right hose for demanding conditions
The hoses of the air dome are constantly exposed to high loads. On the one hand, they are subject to mechanical stress, as the flying foxes often claw at them upside down - their sharp claws are a real challenge for the material. On the other hand, the tubes are exposed to intense sunlight: UV rays can attack the surface and cause the material to become brittle and porous over time.
The Master-PUR L Trivolution from Masterflex is exactly the right hose for these demanding conditions. Thanks to its outstanding UV and weather resistance, it remains durable and resistant even in intense sunlight. It also impresses with its high abrasion resistance, so that even the sharp claws of flying foxes cannot harm the material. Thanks to its flexible and pressure-resistant construction, it ensures reliable airflow and thus contributes to the long-term stability of the air dome roof.
