Hoses for the food and pharmaceutical industry
These hoses are used in food production, filling plants and pharmaceutical production facilities.
In this field of application, we offer diverse and compliant hose solutions approved for contact with food. All models offer good abrasion resistance, flexibility and robustness, simply by virtue of material and design. Depending on the conveyed medium or requirement profile, you can choose your suitable product between very flexible, light or heavier as well as robust hoses with a wide range of diameters. Electrically conductive hoses are particularly important in the area of powder conveying (for example, for flour) and are, of course, available from us. We also offer a high temperature hose or compliant hose systems within the industrial plant periphery.

Construction food hoses and pharmaceutical hoses
Food grade hoses are usually extruded hose models. Our food hoses offer the best possible resistance with very good resilience and flexibility. We have relatively thick-walled food hoses (PU and PVC Polderflex), coated fabric hoses, profile-extruded spiral hoses and penumatic hoses. Especially in the production and filling of products that we consume or apply to the body, it is essential that production is as clean as possible. The cleanliness of the work equipment as well as the optimal choice of materials are decisive in this respect.
Materials in contact with food
The materials used for food and pharmaceuticals are tested for harmful substances and so-called "migration values". For this purpose, food simulants (exemplary test media with, for example, a liquid, oily or alcoholic base) are tested - divided into substance groups - to determine whether and how many substances "migrate" from materials into media. This migration can occur physically, by abrasion or by chemical reactions between materials and media. Food simulant groups (A, B, C, D, D1, D2 and E) are used for classification. It can be roughly stated that all dry goods fall under simulant group E and liquid/fatty foods are distributed between A-D2.
During testing, food simulants are tested to ensure that migration levels are not exceeded during a specified contact time to ensure that the media is not "contaminated".

Standards for food and pharmaceutical production equipment
There are a number of standards in this sensitive area that the materials and products used must meet. For the products we offer in the food and pharmaceutical sector as Masterflex, these include:

Approvals
Our Masterflex hoses meet national and international conditions and are therefore used in the food and pharmaceutical sectors. The most common approvals in Europe are, for example, Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011, Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 or FDA 21 CFR §177.2600 (material complies with the aforementioned FDA food regulations).
Our Master-PUR Food hose series is made of particularly high-quality polyurethane (food-grade PU) and is thus ideally suited for almost all applications involving foodstuffs. The entire hose has also been officially approved by an independent testing institute. Tested according to the new EC Directive 2002/72/EC, including the latest amending Directives 2008/39/EC and 975/2009, we are therefore authorized to mark these hose types with the official EC foodstuffs logo.
Matching connectors for all hoses
Of course, we also offer matching connectors for all hose models. These can also be cast directly onto the hose ends. In this case we speak of a hose system. The advantages of cast-on connectors are optimized flow, better manageability, less dead space and good durability.
