Change of perspective in training
Since January 2023, the world market-leading hose manufacturer Masterflex from Gelsenkirchen and the neighboring ZOOM Erlebniswelt have been linked by a business partnership. In the course of this cooperation, many joint activities take place throughout the year, in which Masterflex aims to raise its profile as an attractive employer and training company in the region, in order to get interested schoolchildren excited about training at Masterflex and generally about the region's industrial environment.
"As a globally active company, it is important to train qualified junior staff and offer them a solid basis for their professional future." Says Masterflex Head of Human Resources Christina Neubauer. In April, therefore, two exciting "change of perspective days" took place, during which trainees from Masterflex and the Gelsenkirchen public utility company were able to visit each other and look over each other's shoulders. This provided exciting insights into each other's everyday working lives.
The visit to Masterflex SE was an exciting and informative experience for the external trainees. The trainees from the municipality were able to gain valuable experience that was atypical for everyday life, and this change of perspective gave them an insight into the working world of a globally active industrial company. They learned first-hand what skills and competencies are required in the various apprenticeship occupations and what career opportunities are available after successfully completing their training.
The enthusiasm and interest of the trainees showed that training at Masterflex SE is an attractive and promising option for young people who want a career in the plastics industry and really want to achieve something.
Varied actions, thinking outside the box to gain as much experience as possible, these are the things that young apprentices expect from their training nowadays. Masterflex therefore try to reach young people for the industrial environment with various engagements and also motivate them during their apprenticeship at Masterflex.
Both Masterflex and the ZOOM Erlebniswelt involved many different departments on the perspective change days and thus filled a whole day agenda with valuable content.
In conclusion, the visit of the trainees from the Municipality / ZOOM Erlebniswelt to Masterflex SE was a complete success and that such exchanges between companies and trainees are important and help to inspire and promote young people for the working world.< Back
