At the Circular Performer Emscher-Lippe event, Masterflex exchanged ideas with partners on the circular economy, digitalization, and solutions.

On October 16, 2026, as part of the Circular Performer Emscher-Lippe project, the Masterflex Group welcomed various companies, institutes, and universities to its Gelsenkirchen location for a professional exchange. The focus was on current developments in the circular economy, regulatory requirements, and concrete approaches to circular value creation. The open and constructive atmosphere provided the ideal setting for making new contacts, an intensive exchange of knowledge, and further discussions. Participants included WiN Emscher-Lippe, celano GmbH, the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences in Gelsenkirchen, Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, the North Westphalia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Lüdenscheid Plastics Institute. The Circular Economy Requires Collaboration The Masterflex Group is active in the “Plastics” and “Digital Product Passport & Indicators” expert groups. “Exchanging ideas with partners from industry, academia, and associations helps us assess technological developments and regulatory changes early on and translate them into sustainable product and system solutions,” says Stefan Nüßen, Head of Technology and Development at the Masterflex Group. Following an introduction to our corporate strategy , Hero@Zero, the focus shifted to the circular economy and AMPIUS®. The Digital Product Passport drew particular interest: growing demands for transparent product information and the integration of plastics technology with digital data flows sparked lively discussions. Circular Solutions from Engineering and Practice For the Masterflex Group, Circular Solutions are a key building block on the path to more resource-efficient value creation. We leverage our materials and engineering expertise to develop technical hose and connection solutions that combine functional, application-specific, and sustainability-related requirements. AMPIUS® complements this approach with digital life-cycle tracking functions and creates greater transparency throughout the product life cycle. During the subsequent plant tour, participants gained insights into our production facilities in Gelsenkirchen. The day concluded with further discussions in a relaxed atmosphere, and we believe: “This was an all-around successful exchange that strengthens regional networking and opens up new perspectives for joint solutions.” Learn more about the circular economy at Masterflex

In semiconductor manufacturing, when corrosive chemicals are routed through high-purity processes, the hoses used must not interfere with the sensitive production. In paint shops, surfaces that come into contact with the paint must be cleaned quickly and thoroughly during color changes. And in fully automatic coffee machines, hoses are constantly exposed to hot water, steam, and pressure. Three completely different applications, each with equally high demands, that only a few plastics can reliably and durably meet. This is exactly where fluoropolymers come into play. Their high resistance to chemicals and corrosion, temperature stability, and non-stick surfaces make them ideal materials for technically demanding and sensitive processes. In a recent interview with Wirtschaftsforum, APT Managing Director Martin Brück provides insights into this unique world of high-performance plastics. Under the title “The Connection Makes the Difference,” he discusses APT’s development, the special properties of fluoropolymers, and why material knowledge alone is not enough to ensure a reliable hose solution. In doing so, Martin Brück sums up a core principle of APT. In-house product development, plant and tool design, various extrusion processes , and modern inline measurement and testing technology enable us to support a solution from the initial idea through to reproducible series production.
Focus on Reliable Catheter Solutions On the Gradical Podcast, Lucas R. Pianegonda (Gradical) and Damien Carr (Eyedea MedTech Education) discuss a highly interesting case study on the future of sustainable catheter solutions. The episode centers on the question of how medical tubing and catheters can be developed today to better balance safety, cost-effectiveness, and environmental considerations. As a technology leader, solution provider, and trusted partner, this popular episode was even sponsored by Novoplast Schlauchtechnik. Efficiency, Safety, and New Materials Damien Carr, also known as “The Catheter Guy,” describes traditional catheter manufacturing as a highly complex, manual process. The case study, however, highlights the potential of continuous production processes, dynamic co-extrusion, and material-optimized designs. Particularly exciting are tubing solutions made from the highly interesting UHMWPE for medical technology . Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene, or UHMWPE for short, is an exciting plastic tubing material with versatile applications within medical technology. Medical Brands from Germany—Masterflex Group as an Innovation Partner for Medtech and Biopharmaceuticals Damien Carr, an internationally recognized expert in catheter design, made a strong recommendation for the Masterflex Group as a potential implementation partner in Europe in a LinkedIn comment: “A big thank you to the Masterflex Group! If there was ever a company in Europe that could turn my words into action, you’ve just found them!” From the perspective of Masterflex Group Medical Brands, Novoplast Schlauchtechnik and Fleima-Plastic underscore just how crucial high-performance materials and reliable manufacturing processes have become for tubing, tubing sets, and injection-molded solutions for medical catheters. Medical Technology Novoplast Schlauchtechnik UHMWPE Tubing Synergies from a Single Source—APT as a Specialist in Medtec Fluorothermoplasts With APT from Düsseldorf, the Masterflex Group also has a proven specialist in reliable tubing solutions as well as heat-shrink tubing made of PTFE and fluorinated thermoplastics. For the podcast hosts, one thing is clear: there is no direct 1:1 substitute for fluoropolymers. At the same time, the Masterflex Group is continuously researching and investing in new materials and high-performance substances to develop innovative and sustainable solutions. Examples of this include tubing solutions from Novoplast Schlauchtechnik made of UHMWPE, as well as biodegradable and Cradle-to-Cradle-compliant tubing systems in line with a consistent circular approach. “Sustainability, performance, and safety must not be pitted against one another in medical technology—modern material concepts must meet all three requirements,” says Andreas Hankel of the Masterflex Group. The shareholders' meeting approved the proposal put forward by the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board and resolved to pay a dividend of €0.30 per share for the 2025 fiscal year (previous year: €0.27).

In total, 2,885,500.20 euros (previous year: 2,596,950.18 euros) will be distributed from Masterflex SE’s retained earnings. The remaining amount of €28,884,973.27 will be carried forward to new account. The Annual General Meeting expressed its confidence in the members of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board of Masterflex SE for the 2025 fiscal year and approved all items on the agenda by a large majority. In his speech, CEO Dr. Andreas Bastin highlighted in particular the strategic progress made as part of the HERO@ZERO future strategy. A key milestone in this regard is the largest engineering and framework contract in the history of the Masterflex Group to date, which was concluded last year. The series ramp-up is planned for the end of 2026, with full ramp-up scheduled for 2027. With this project, the company expects recurring annual revenues in the mid-single-digit millions and, at the same time, strengthens its technological position in the strategic target industry groups “Life” and “Tech.” In addition, Dr. Bastin highlighted the expansion of cleanroom capacities in the Medical Technology division. By expanding its controlled cleanroom space by approximately 20 percent by the end of 2026, Masterflex is responding to the continued high demand from the medical and laboratory technology sectors and creating additional conditions for further growth in this attractive future market. Another strategic focus was on international expansion in the aviation business. With the laying of the cornerstone for the new plant in Morocco, the Masterflex Group has laid the foundation for the further expansion of its activities in the aviation industry. Through its subsidiary Matzen & Timm, a modern production facility for highly specialized hose and connection systems is being built in the Midparc Free Trade Zone near Casablanca. Dr. Andreas Bastin, CEO of the Masterflex Group: “2025 was a year of significant strategic progress for the Masterflex Group. Despite economic headwinds in some customer industries, we achieved new sales and earnings records while simultaneously laying the groundwork for further profitable growth. With the largest order in the company’s history, the expansion of our cleanroom capacities, and the groundbreaking of our new plant in Morocco, we are strategically strengthening our position in attractive future markets. Our future strategy, HERO@ZERO, is opening up increasingly concrete economic prospects. We are making targeted investments in future markets, technological innovations, and sustainable solutions, thereby strengthening our position as a leading international specialist in sophisticated hose and connection systems.” Voter turnout was 66.25%. The Masterflex Group consistently uses recyclable Cradle to Cradle hose solutions in its day-to-day production. At the Group’s locations, including Halberstadt, Gelsenkirchen, and Düsseldorf, the hoses are used, for example, for conveying granules. The solutions are made of a biodegradable polymer and are designed to be fully recyclable.

This makes it all the more gratifying to use hose solutions developed according to the Cradle to Cradle principles at our own locations. When we have such confidence in our own products, it sends a strong and important signal to the industry,” says CEO Andreas Bastin.
We would like to proactively inform you about the current status: Supply Capability: Our production capacities are currently stable and we are able to deliver without restriction. Logistics & Transit: We are observing a general increase in transit times on sea freight routes of around 14 to 21 days due to necessary diversions. We are compensating for this as far as possible through forward-looking warehousing and adjusted scheduling cycles. Freight Costs: Rising energy costs and bottlenecks in the supply of intermediate products may have an indirect impact on procurement prices. Please understand that, due to these unpredictable market dynamics, we reserve the right to adjust our pricing and freight conditions should the burdens reach an extraordinary level. Risk management: We are in close contact with our logistics partners and suppliers in order to identify potential bottlenecks as early as possible and activate alternative routes or sources of supply. Important Note : Please note that the situation is very dynamic. The above information does not constitute a legal guarantee for future delivery dates. In the event of circumstances beyond our control ( force majeure ), delays cannot be completely ruled out despite the utmost care. We therefore recommend planning your requirements well in advance. If you have any questions about ongoing orders, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
